Joinery CAD Draughtsman

Over 130 years of producing high quality joinery has given Coulson Joinery a much envied reputation.

Working alongside some of the country's leading Architects and Interior Designers we have been able to bring their design concepts to fruition, many of which have received industry recognition including three national “Wood Awards”.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to join a leading, well established Joinery Company based in Cambridge.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Taking briefs and ideas from clients/designers and turning them into full working drawings/setting out for in house joinery production.
  • Liasing closely with the Joinery Manager to establish cost effective and efficient ways to manufacture projects within budget and to specification.
  • Coordinating the ordering of specialist materials required for the project.
  • Effectively briefing Joiners/Machinists once drawings have been approved and throughout production.
  • Ensuring the work is completed in a timely manner and within budget.

Person Requirements:

  • A good knowledge of joinery practices, processes and requirements
  • Up to date knowledge of health and safety matters
  • Proficient in the use of CAD systems
  • Ability to communicate and interact with relevant stakeholders including clients and staff
  • Ability to design and schedule to order and to timetable
  • Excellent product knowledge for joinery
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Able to represent the Company professionally when dealting with clients
